Wiki

I have been consumed by the almighty wiki since February 4, 2008 at 3:58 p.m.

They are fun and challenging to build. Once one learns the art of formatting the challenge becomes fun. Come next week I hope my co-workers feel the same way.

Library 2.0

"Kate Sheehan makes some interesting observations about the cultural awareness of librarians. She also touches on an unfortunate truth about Library 2.0:

It’s easy to become enamored of social networking sites and Web 2.0 toys to the point where they seem like a panacea (cure-all) for everything that’s wrong with your library or your job. Slap a wiki on it and call me in the morning. The most successful uses of the newest tech tools have recognized that they’re just that: tools."

I like the idea of keeping all my bookmarks in one place rather than having bookmarks on my CML computer then have another set of bookmarks on my personal computer. This is something I will most certainly use.

A co-worker just explained to me the benefits of Twitter. Could be useful tool to communicate with other CML staff.

I love the fish and chips! I cam across a online text generator that gives out unique names of British towns. So lift a pint to salute Sodmagnableaker, Liverpool.
